Question about 1996 Isuzu Rodeo

1 Answer

I have a 1996 isuzu rodeo and I put the 4wd on today and went to take it out and it wont come of 4wd. It is shifting hard and wont go about 25-30 per hour. The 4wd gear stick says that is in 2h, but on my dash the 4wd light is still. Does anyone know what the problem is?

i had a similar problem. does your truck drive like you're in 4wd? my problem was 4wd sensor sticking. i was actually in 2wd(which i can tell by sound feel) but dash was showing 4wd. is this same as you?

94 isuzu rodeo wont shift outta 2nd gear

auto trans no less.. it shifts no you.
so what trans is there?
so reverse works, 1 gear, then 2nd , but not 3rd.
some have a TCM that does the auto shifts.
and must be scanned to see why it wont shift.
levels ok, that be like first first. done not like engine, ever.
do it correctly.
The TCM may have flash codes, the FSM factory serv. man. covers this, as does mitchells.but it will ask you
what engine you have, and which trans is car 4wd?
first know your drive train then ask.

1995 Isuzu Rodeo will not shift in to drive

car 2wd/ or 4wd.
will not shift into any gear. reverse too, wont move?
well as with a/t boxes this.

1: check fuses first. if the 4l30 it need power to the tcm.
but will still car moves if the lever moves. even fuse blown.
2: the levels right ,per operators guide, do not use engine oil level style checks or make it WORSE.
3: a new filter, kind makes sense in all cases.
4: you shifted to DRive, but did the box shift to drive, under car.
look, there, have help shift and you look
this is called the MANUAL valve lever, if it fails to shift right
it will not work. super simple cave man stuff here, a cable.
must shift out of park and out of neutral or car will never move.
5: lots more, but that is par for course on all a/t boxes .
6: line pressure test pass? (fsm book shows this simple test)
if that fails the box is bad. (low pressure)

I can not put my 4x4 2003 rodeo into 4wd.

old post
put car on
ICE (at least 1 tire) to shift.
or off road
shift to 4wd moving slow as possible;

your car is not AWD, (all wheel drive)
nor is it TOD. IT IS PART TIME 4WD. ONLY.
ITS NOT FOR DRY PAVEMENT OR EVEN WATER WET ONLY PAVEMENT ,AT ALL.
rtm
read the operators guide
or this
people been doing this since ww2 jeeps

http://www.fixkick.com/tranny/xfr-case/windup-hell.jpg

boom,
its for snow/ice or offroad.

I just put a newer battery in my 1996 Isuzu Rodeo, (4wd), and the dashboard lights come on, but it won't start. can you please help me?

My name is Werner
In the engine compartment there is a relay box that houses a bunch of relays they are all the same take the relay from the horn spot and switch it with the starter one ane and see iff it turns over that way if ti does then the relay is bad and U need a new one if it doesnt try jumping the starter manually (this is not easy to do as there is little room)! If the starter needs to be replaced you have to undo the exhaust on the driver side manifold to get it out , in order to do that ypu must heat up the manifold studs with a torch to turn the nuts off . This is the reason for the flex joint in the exhaust y pipe as it moves enough to drop the starter.
