Are you sure it is first gear it is making when in 1. In park does the car lock up if you try to push it with the handbrake off. If not your problem is adjustment of the cable i.e. although the lever is in reverse the gearbox isn't.

I have all gears but reverse and when in park and neutral and gas pedal is pressed the car moves forward, why?

well could be two things. either your transmission has crapped out on you. or you have a shifter linkage issue. which means when the car is in park its not really in park. try this. move the shifter and see if the car moves in a different gear then what it says it is in . so if it moves in neutral it could be drive and reverse is neutral. if it does not reverse at all. time for a new trany is my guess.

Neutral safety switch

Maybe the Shift interlock cable is your problem from shifting from drive to park but not sure about the reverse.

Vehicle does not move forward.
The following parts and assemblies need to be checked thoroughly.

2. Valve body assembly
3. Forward clutch C1
4. Planetary gear unit
5. 1st and reverse brake (B3)
6. Park/ neutral position switch

Volvo 2006 S60 refuses to move in reverse direction

your problem lies in the internal parts of your transmission which are the clutch linings, they are already worn out and starts to slide.

What engine? Rear wheel drive ?Sounds like shift linkage or cable out of adjustment slightly. Have a look at where cable or rod attaches to transmission for adjustment. If not sure of what your looking for get back to me with info.

1994 toyota camry 4 cyl no reverse , only forward in N, 1, 2 ,3

It sounds like the linkage may be out of adjustment a bit. If it is not either in Neutral or Park, of course it will not let the starter engage, Try to start it in Neutral if it will not start in Park, or try it in neutral, and pull or push on it a bit. If it starts when you push or pull it, adjust the linkage that goes to the switch, I think it is under the console cover.
