SOURCE: fuel pump noise smell gas while car is running 92 mustang

the pump should stop when it builds up to the correct pressure. if it continues to pump and you smell fuel then you probably have a fuel leek. normally fuel consumption will increase with a leek, even slightly.

I have a 92 mustang lx 2.3 and it won't start. There is no fire at the plugs, and I can't hear the fuel pump kick on. The reset on the fuel pump is not popped out, so it is good. Any help woul

I would check the EEC relay and the fuel pump relay for power and ground signals first. Both circuits are controlled by the ignition key switch. The fuel pump should be powered for 3 seconds when you turn the key on.

TIMING JUMPED ON 92 MUSTANG LX...AFTER TEAR DOWN HOW & WHERE ARE TIMING MARKS SUPOSED TO BE

The valve timing marks are inside the timing chain cover. There is a location dot punched into the camshaft and crankshaft timing gears. The two dots face each other when number one cylinder is at top dead center.

Choking and soonly acceleration.

There are 2 things that come to mind that can cause your issues.

1. Idle air control sensor. This can cause bad air/fuel mix ratio. ( bad idle, slow acceleration )

2. Throttle position sensor, ( TPS), This can cause a bad idle and slow acceleration.

I hope this helps.

Hello, my mustang is stopping when i come to a stop. i was told to replace the pedal accelerator pressure sensor. is that correct

Yes, it's your TPS (throttle position sensor). I would get this replaced asap to avoid stalling or uncontrollable acceleration, hesitation, and other things that pretty much increase your chances of an accident tenfold. the rough idling can cause problems in the long run, so go to a parts place or your dealership and just have them replace the throttle body.

I have a 92 mustang lx 4cyl. timing belt broke and now i have the cover and pullys off but can not get the new one on cause it appears to be a crank senser in the way! how do i go about getting it off?

check first if this is called a safe engine first as you do a lot of damage to the engine if the timing belt broke such as valves and otheres
