Your CV (constant velocity) joints are going to go soon if they are not already gone. Do you have a clunk when turning tightly (low or high speeds)? If you already have a clunk then it will be a while before anything more serious occurs. If the joint seizes and an axle snaps then you will be stuck on the side of the road.
good luck!

Major clicking when car is in a turn especially on the right. Is this bearings or cv joint

Sounds like you have a bad CV joint. The rubber boots on these joints have a tendency to crack letting the grease out and corrosive material in. It's time to replace the joint.

2003 Subaru Forester with manual transmission and 170K miles has clunking, jerking feeling when making sharp turns after vehicle is warm.

chances are the temp of the vehicle has nothing to do with it what your probly hearing is a bad cv-axle either turn the wheel all the way to either side and take a look under the car there is a rubber boot buy the wheel if its cracked or torn the grease inside will be thrown out when driving and eventually crack the inside cage.

I have a 1996 subaru legacy 2.2 4wd auto and when i turn it shudders. I think it might be the transfer valve body playing up. when i put the fuse in to make it 2wd the shudder goes away. Do you think i...

Is it possible your CV (constant velocity) joint is bad or going bad? Do you hear a clicking noise on turns with your shudder? A CV joint will go bad after the boot is damaged in some way as to allow the grease to escape. The boot covers the joint and is packed with grease. If the boot is damaged and dirt or moisture can contaminate the grease and the CV joint will go sooner or later. And if there is not enough grease the CV joint will go dry and wear out. Look under your car and inspect the boot. If you find black grease leaking out or damage to boot, chances are the joint is failing. Fairly easy repair to do, maybe a couple hundred at a shop and a good mechanic should be able to get it done in a timely manner that day. If you have mechanic knowledge, you may want to do it yourself. I hope this helps, good luck!

Sounds to me like the CV joint is going bad.
If the little accordian like boot is torn or cracked it will get water and **** inside and go bad quickly. If it goes bad it will crack the boot in most cases. It the car has 80,000 miles or more on it you should have a mechanic look at both CV joints on each side of the car.
If any of the CV joints are bad you should change them all because you do about the same ammount of work and you get the whole drive system done right.
The CV joint is just a universal joint for a front wheel drive. As it gets worse it will transfer the vibration to the engine and transmition which will cause more problems right away so you don't want that to happen. You should have it checked right away.

Subaru legacy 1995 entire right hand boot is cracked in two!! Safe to drive? Or not?

Its a matter of time, if the boot is cracked then the grease inside can come out, when that happens its a downhill slide. Ive seen people drive like that for a long time but eventually it will break. When it does that car will be stuck whereever it broke.
