This sounds like poor contact at battery posts-remove and clean contacts,Only other cause is complete failure of alternator.

Stalling and stoping and not starting up cranks fine

low fuel pressure.. clogged fuel filter..malfuntioning emissions controls...bad auto shutoff relay.. check all..

Why won't my car start? It was running last night.

Try start the car again when it is completely dry, if it starts the rain may be short circuiting something on the loom in the engine bay.

If it still wont start,

will it turn over? (car tries to start)
- If it wont turn over the battery would be dead

- If it turns over but wont burst into life then we can go from there ^_^

I have a 1997 suburban 5.7L 4x4 w/4L60 trans> it seems to run fine but in the rain it "skips" when accelerating it almost seems like it is coming in and out of gear but not fully or maybe...

If it is an engine miss you may have some bad spark plug wires. The moisture in the air from the road spray may be causing your plug wires to arc. You can inspect your plug and coil wires for signs of arcing. You can take a spray bottle with water in it and spray your wires and see if you can duplicate the problem or hear or see an arc. Inspect your distributor cap also for cracks and signs of arcing. Has it been a while since you've tuned it up? If it's a transmission issue I would inspect the wiring around the transmission for bad connections or damage to them. You can take dielectric grease and put a little in the connections which may help with moisture issues.

Test the fuel pressure. With gauge connected to the fuel rail turn key on, listen for pump, when it stops, turnthe key off and leave gauge connected for an hour. The original reading should been 50lbs., if it drops any more than a couple of pounds the pump is bad. The M.A.P. sensor sounds like it was another item in itself.

My 1991 honda civic runs fine yesturday and today it wont start please help

the car wont start? do you mean the engine wont turn over or it wont fire or run? if the car does not run but it turn over, check the basic..see if you have sparks and fuel, then check all your fuse pertaining to engine and ignition. the car need to have both thing in order for the engine to run. If you getting both sparks and fuel you engine may have jump time especially with older car with high miles, it the sign timing belt getting worn, you don't want it to break. if you don't get fire from spark plug then you may have a bad coil, distubutor, rotor or timing sensor. if you get no fuel, fuse blown, bad fuel pump relay or fuel pump it self. hope that help some ..good luck

Engine will shutoff at low speeds and turning does it sometimes

Sounds like a dirty or faulty, IAC motor. (idle air control motor) It controls your idle speed under load, so vehicle doesn't stall at stop signs etc. Turning wheel, heater on, ac on etc, are all load conditions that it controls the idle for. Have had good luck at removing it, spraying it & port it comes out of on throttle body, with throttle body cleaner, and re-install. Some will take quite a while before they act up again, or may last a week or 2. if it does cure it, and it starts doing it too frequent after cleaning, replace it.
