You need to follow the factory troubleshooting procedure for the code you got from the test (you never give that code). We do not have any wiring diagrams they are copyrighted material.

Hi there:
The DTC P0700 is a Information Code The Transaxle Control Module (TCM) that monitors the malfunction of sensors and actuators relating to transaxle control. If any malfunction is detected, the TCM informs the PCM by sending a signal (P0700 code). P0700 means that a code has been set in the TCM.
This code is for information ONLY. If this code is present, check for transaxle codes. So basically, the P0700 code is telling you to check the TCM for a transaxle DTC. The TCM can not turn on the check engine light so it has the PCM do it, which can only be done with a diagnostic scanner. The self retreival method for chryslers with the ignition key will not pull up the specific transmission fault codes in the TCM.

DTC 1784: LOW-REVERSE PRESSURE SWITCH
1.Remove transaxle relay from connector. Turn ignition on. Install scan tool and observe low-reverse pressure switch condition. Apply battery voltage to transaxle relay connector terminal No. 8. If low-reverse pressure switch stays off, go to next step. If low-reverse pressure switch turns on, go to step 4 .

2.Raise vehicle enough to allow drive wheels to spin freely. Test low-reverse clutch hydraulic pressure. See HYDRAULIC PRESSURE TESTS under TESTING. If low-reverse clutch pressure test is not within specification, internal transaxle failure exists. If low-reverse clutch pressure test is within specification, observe scan tool.

3.If low-reverse pressure switch turns on, trouble code is intermittent. Check wire harnesses and connectors for damage or poor connection. If low-reverse pressure switch does not turn on, replace solenoid and pressure switch assembly. Recheck trouble codes. If trouble code resets, replace TCM.

4.Check and repair wiring harness between transaxle relay connector and solenoid and pressure switch assembly connector. If wiring harness is okay, check wire between TCM connector terminal No. 10 and solenoid and pressure switch assembly.

5.If wire between TCM connector terminal No. 10 and solenoid and pressure switch assembly is okay, check TCM and solenoid and pressure switch assembly connectors. Repair connectors as necessary. If connectors are okay, recheck trouble codes. If trouble code resets, replace solenoid and pressure switch assembly. Recheck trouble codes. If trouble code resets, replace TCM.

P0700-The Transmission Control Module (TCM) monitors the malfunction of sensors and actuators relating to transmission control. When the TCM detects a malfunction with the control, a signal is send to the Engine Control Module (ECM) to trigger the Engine Light or Service Engine Soon light. The ECM stores the P0700 code and it means the TCM detected a malfunction with the transmission controls.

I would try disconnecting he battery and letting it sit for 5 minutes, then hook it back up to see if they return-the 700 code is probably related to the 1784 code, that seems to be your main issue.

Both codes (obviously) point to transmission related problems.

DTC P0700 - Transaxle Control System Fault Conditions
The P0700 code is for information only and the next step is to check for transaxle codes in the Transaxle Control Module (TCM). So you'll have to have the dealer or another qualified shop/technician pull the transaxle codes from the TCM and go from there.

DTC P2706 - Shift Solenoid "F"
First check your wiring before you get inside and open the tranny up. Could be loose wiring, if not do the operation and make sure you do a heat test with the solenoid before you replace it.

The diagnostic test won`t tell you if there is water or what the problem is exactly.There is a trouble tree you follow when you get a code and it will tell you test a number of things by using a multimeter or test light.Some techs skip test or just replace parts and clear the code and sometimes the test do not come up with a failure.The usual problem with this code is water in the system and it usually requires replacing the injection pump.There is a service bulletin for this vehicle not passing the I/M test.The bulletin is 06-06-04-037.What you should do is go to the dealership and see if they can give you a copy of this bulletin so you can show it to the inspectors that are performing the test.Hope this helps.Good luck.

2002 Dodge Ram 1500. 5.9 V8-518 tranny. New filter/fluid/governor pressure sensor/pressure switch. No trouble codes showing. Need to redline the engine to get it to upshirt 1-2, and 2-3. Once in 4 and 5...


Did you test the TPS ( throttle position sensor)?

The automatic transmission uses throttle position sensor to determine position and opening of throttle, and to decide when to shift into gear.
IF throttle position sensor is defective, the car may have problems shifting into one or more gears, and you may also get no error code from OBDII scanner.

The TPS is tested reading volts on the TPS contacts, while someone else from inside the car smoothly press the pedal.

If the TPS is bad, the voltage will not change smoothly, but there will be gaps and peaks in voltage.


If the TPS is ok, then the next step will be checking the transmission shift solenoid pack located in the valve body. This are tested measuring Ohms on solenoids, and cheching if they get powered. This is unlikely the problem, as you would get a P0700 code from TCM.

Finally the TCM (transaxle control module) may be faulty. This may also return no code, as the TCM will think it is doing its job. This fault is also rather uncommon, and can be tested reading voltages on TCM connectors to TPS.

At a glance, from your broad description, you have a faulty TPS.

How can i fix my mazda 626 transmission range


The transmission range sensor aka neutral safety switch is located underneath the air filter on top of the transaxle and very easy to access. Replace this part (around $50) and it will solve your problem.
What happens is this, when your tranny warms up, it disperses heat to the sensor switch and if its faulty or worn out, will send faulty relays to the transmissiom computer module (TCM) and makes the transmission shift irratically (OD to 3rd and back while driving at freeway speeds). You tranny is not overheating like most people believe, its the switch. Mechanics are telling alot of people that their tranny needs replaced. Watch Out For These People!! They only want your money!!

Tranny; Reverse works but no drive at all.


this is a lack of EGR flow related code, it has no affect on the trans operation, the problem u have is that the forward clutch has failed, to repair this the transaxle must be overhauled.
