NO ENGINE told, nOR GAS OR DIESEL.?????? i= gas.
first we test fuel last , not pumps first (sorry but i cover that)

the engine must be good, no bad engine burns fuel and run.
next is (gas engine) spark must be good or if diesel glow plugs.working.
then comes fuel checks last. (all this is basic basics 101 stuff)
the PCm cuts fuel for many good reasons.
but we test fuel pressure cranking, on any dead engine using a tool called fuel gauge ( PSI or in Europe BAR/kPA)
CRANKING ONLY
IF THE FUEL PUMP RELAY IS DEAD, MOST TIMES THAT MEANS
THE PCM IS CUTTING FUEL ON PURPOSE.
TOP CASE PCM SEES SPARK DEAD AND MUST BY LAW CUT FUEL FAST.
if car has bad TPS sensor and it sends 5vdc to the PCM for throttle angle (100^%) or WOT false signal the PCM cuts fuel
or the PCM sees IMMO not happy it cuts fuel. or spark and on some cars even cuts cranking, on my car it cuts fuel after 3 second run
if IMMO KEY FAILS.

other simple tests, is Test fuel.spray
if engine good and spark good, test fuel works.
see? but no engine told
and spark plugs all tested for good spark..
on on all uSA cars here, 1996 up any OBD2 scantool works
so we scan it first. see why the PCM cut fuel???
as it can for many reasons,
on gasoline engine top causes are P03xx DTC errors
for sure CMP or CKP sensors failing it cuts fuel 1or2 ways.

the PCM sends +5vdc refr, power to many sensors.
if one shorts, the voltage drops and this DTC sets.
what we do is measure the voltage.
then pull those sensors 1 by one. and find the offending sensor.
i cant be more SAVVY then that, no engine stated, so ....
no sensors to show you.
on one gas engine
the PCM C2-pin 41 is 5v out.
the throttle body uses that.
so does cam sensor and crank Hall sensors.
or the wire to them shorting to ground.

get car seviced,
any ASE tech can fix this, he has the same drawing im reading now.

Those are communication and internal computer failures. You likely need a new PCM

ECM failures occur when the system ground is not reliable...those three hundred amp starts share the same access point as the ECM..."weld" themselves into position for a "brown out" condition that to the ECM makes them dysfunctional....a renewed ground attachment with takin' the 1/0 cable off and wirebrushing the spot where is was bolted in to establish reliable ground will make the failures disappear~

Code 601 is saying one of the controller circuits in the computer has failed.
You may need a shop or a dealer to find out for sure.

it's bad engine control module

The code P0601 means the internal memory of the PCM (computer) has failed self-test. The PCM may need to be reflashed or replaced. The other codes will probably go away after this.

Take the van to AutoZone or similar business to get a free scan of the computer and see if you get the same error code. You should be able to replace the PCM with one from a wrecking yard--they guarantee them usually for at least 30 days. Dodge dealers and auto parts houses sell rebuilt ones too, but it has been a number of years since I had to buy one. Wrecking yards usually sell for half of new price. Hope this helps!

P0601 is an internal problem with the PCM (powertrain control module) ( the computer) Can you disconnect the battery and reconnect it and the can run? Does the car run Now? ( probly not) the repair procedure says to replace the PCM and reprogram it. This is a dealer job as the VIN and the computer have to be matched with the chysler data base.

check the fuel pressure or the type of gasoline you are using try using 95 octane. Check also for vacuum leaks on the intake manifold, air intake shld be metered by the air mass flow sensor in order for the PCM to compute for right amount of gasoline.
