Window was acting iffy. Would roll down, but had started to hesitate occasionally when rolling it up. Now it is stuck about 2/3 of the way up. We tapped the down button and it appears to still want to go that direction, but are afraid to try and toll it down and start over for fear it will be stuck completely unrolled. Help!

Re: electric window has stopped rolling up
To get up pull on window with your hand while using switch in up position. if window is cocking to the side it is a bad window regulator. if it is just slow and then stopping probably a bad motor. it is harder to go up than down and this causes more pull on motor as it goes bad it will cause the breaker to heat up and trip so if you wait a few minutes you will see it tries to go up again.one quick way to check if motor is trying to work is to cut key on and watch your dome light when you work switch if it dims a little when you hit up button you know power is going to it. if not then possible switch problem.work you passenger window and look at light so you will see what i mean.

I would suspect the window switch on the door. Sounds like the down switch part off the switch may not be working. Before replacing the switch I would get some spray that is made to clean electrical contacts. Should have it at any auto parts store or even radio shack. Spray the electrical contacts on the switch and clean it up real good and see how it does.
window regulator is most likely stripped ,you will need to replace the regulator used or new ,if you dont have any experience doing this ,you might need help .door panels are very brittle when removing ,and costly if you break them so please i stress take your time
I replace glass in cars for a living and I see this often. I also own an 02 ES300 which had the same problem. It's usually from lack of use that a rear doorglass stops working. The electric motor gets some corrosion in it and stops working. I repeatedly slapped the interior door panel while activating the switch that rolls the glass up or down. After about 5-10 minutes of this it started to work. If you get lucky like I did, make sure you roll the window up and down multiple times if you get it to work. Then remember to occasionally roll all the other windows up and down a few times every week or so to keep this from happening again. Good luck!
Battery Disconnect Window Reset Procedure: Roll window all the way down ( in first position), then roll window all the way up. When you reach the top, press and hold the switch down for 3-5 seconds. Roll window all the way down (again), press and hold the switch down for 3-5 seconds. The window should roll up and down normally. Repeat the same steps for ALL the window switches.
The window position is monitered by the softop control module. It sounds like the glass is very dirty and drawing too much amperage during window operation. The soft top is electro hydraulic. The roll bar is operated normally with hydraulics but it is mechanically released in an emergency situation. 1st make sure your windows are clean and the express(one touch operation) is working-the soft top will not function properly if the windows are not synchronized. Next be sure your roll bar works-hold swith in up position to lock roll bar rams in if they have been deployed. next put your top all the way up. untill windows roll up and try it with the engine running and trans in nuetral- if it still does not work mechanically secre rear of top with tool provided in your tool kit the owner's manual will tell you how to do this. good luck
I have the same problem, its more than likely a sticking motor. I just punch the door panel below the window switch (where the motor is) and it works. You may have to bang it a few times but i have to do it about once a week on the front right or my car.
