Newly installed rear air shocks in my 2001 Buick LeSabre . They now make
a raping sound when travling over any small bump. Is my air compressor a problem?

Buick - 2004 - rear shocks replaced - when you hit a small bump, it sounds like the left rear is pounding

I'd have them checked first to determine if it is actually the shocks, or possibly just a loose or cracked line, which should be a pretty inexpensive fix. If it turns out to be shocks, weigh it out then.

Your Buick LeSabre may have air shocks on the rear. Check the shocks for leakage or stains from previous leaking. If the shocks are leaking you'll need to replace the set. Don't replace only one shock-replace them both.

Rear shocks and compressor are toast on my 2004 Lesabre. Can I put just the shocks on and not worry about the comperessor? Are there shocks that would replace the Gm shocks?

yes, you can just order them without level ride, you could also install the same ones the only thing is the air part will not be used, but if the shock without air is cheaper then just use them, i think it may be hard to get without air as seeing they all have the air ride, again if a problem just use the stock shock without useing the air,you could install hoses to shock and put your own air in them, there would be a valve you install under the bumper or where ever you like, you would ask for a air shock hose kit, easy to install. hope this helps, heres a picture of kitafc0076.jpg

i would contact a supplier that deals with aftermarkt suspension systems, removing the air ride will require you to beef up the spring rate ,

Load levelers must be leaking, the air pump is running

No, you may want to replace the shocks though. You can leave the leveler disconnected and replace your shocks with regular shocks.

My right rear suspension is flat on my 2000 Buick LeSabre Custom. I can hear the air compressor working. On that one side, it rides like a "lowrider." Could I need new shocks.

Hello. A couple things may have happened.1, one of the rear air shocks could have blown out, or 2, you may have a air line leaking or broke. We are here to help you get your vehicle diag and repaired. Craig

it should be air adjustable, if the pump is working, most of the time the shocks leak. have a shop ck out the rear shocks, if they leak, then verify that the pump is operational. Monroe offers replacements.

If you're replacing the springs as well, you can put regular shocks/struts in. The springs on that car didn't offer full support as they were designed to work in conjunction with the support from the air struts also. Just make sure the new springs are specified for a car without air ride. You will also need to remove the fuse/relay for the air ride compressor because the veh. goes through a "air pressure replenishment" cycle every time the key is turned to run. The compressor will then run for 7 minutes until it times out when it determines that it isn't doing anything to ride height.
