Rain is probably not the cause. There is a circuit in your steering column that is probably bad..called a "donut circuit?" (not 100% sure). I've been told it's round and makes continuous connection even as the steering wheel spins. These commonly wear out, then the airbag light illuminates. Not sure how costly it is to fix, but I believe you need to take apart the steering column to replace it. This is the reason my 1997 Bravada remains unrepaired! Rain is probably not the cause. only half way there if you have a tbi check the crank sensor/ cam sensor that is the first line of business on that truck if the crankshaft sensor fails the truck stops dead when you wait a few minutes the sensor re energizes and the truck will work again for a bit antiknock can cause similer problems but not while the truck is running
its a pain in the ****
if its 4x4 you have to drop the front diff

Had a 94 Olds Bravada that did a similar thing and it was EGR valve on the front of the intake. It' s easy to take off and clean with WD 40 and if you have an air compressor blow it out good.
there actually is a recall on this so check with the dealer to see if yours complies, you can google search 1998 chevy s10 blazer recall. but in order to do this yourself you have to replace the upper and lower balljoints, they are factory rivited in and not easy to drill out, a air chisle makes the job alot faster and you will go through 3 drillbits per rivet cause of the hardened steel
I think your BCM which is the body control module has failed, have a self test run on it to see if it will give any codes, if it won't test then it is the problem.
