my car just started cutting out today i thought it was petrol but wasn't the case when i put petrol in.
its never happened before and all that i can think of is when i reversed the car pretty fast when i started going forward it started cutting out on me

check fuel receipt to clarify was petrol that was put in as have seen many people including me once putting wrong fuel in by mistake when in a hurry, if was petrol has it only happened since recently filling up? if not could be o2 sensor fault or catalyst possibly

its definitly not the lamber sensor or catalyst that wouldnt cause it to cut out just cause white/black smoke comming out the back. It could be a loose wire under the bonnet which might have been triggered by you driving fast in reverse you can check all the wires under the bonnet and make sure there all connected propaly do this while the ehgine is off and your engine is cold otherwise you could burn yourself
