1994 isuzu rodeo will not start

It will turn over and try to start but it will not. I changed the plugs, fuel pump, filter and about 6000 miles ago changed the timing belt. if i do get it started it might run a week and then does the same thing again. could this have something to do with the fuel injection. what do you think

I have the exact same problem with my 1996 Honda Passport (same car). I have had sensors replaced, and the entire airflow system replaced. Same thing- it runs great for a few days, and then deteriorates. Cranks, tries to start, then just wont. I can crank it and it will turn over for 4-5 minutes before the battery finally dies. Mechanics have been all over this thing. HELP!

It appears that my car's problem was the head gasket. Mine had sprung a leak, causing anti-freeze to pour into the oil, junking it up, and causing it to crank, but not start. EXPENSIVE fix, but so far, so good~

1997 Isuzu rodeo still will not start. I replaced the fuel filter, pump, and strainer and now the gas is getting through. I checked the plugs and cleaned them. They have a spark but, still did not help. ...

Try changing the Idle Air Control Valve. It is a small device located on the throttle body, mounted to it with two screws. You can purchase one at Autozone.

My Rodeo had a similar problem and that unit fixed it.

1994 isuzu rodeo backfiring out of air cleaner and muffler

Check if there isn't any blown "engine control" fuse. It looks like the computer isn't adjusting the timing as the engine accelerates. I assume you've already checked for open circuits at the ignition system. If not, do so, making sure all your connections are tight.

I have n isuzu rodeo 94 engine it has 177 k miles i was wondering how much farther it will go before it goes out

an engine could run for 250k to 300k if you keep the oil and coolant changed regularly a rule of thumb is new fluids in an engine is always better than an old fluid. keeping spark plugs and fuel filter change and it helps keep carbon out of the top end.

Lost power to engine

Check make sure all plugs are firing. Sounds like what my 93 Rodeo was doing-Idled okay but very rough when in gear. Turns out only 5 out of 6 plugs were firing due to a defective ignition module- 100 bucks later it works fine.

Hope this helps.

Hi, do you hear the fuel pump turn on when you turn the key to on but don't start it. Does the car get weak when you try to start it. What happens if you try to jump it. Just some basic questions.
