Question about 2005 Mazda Tribute
When I tried to start my 2001 Mazda Tribute I heard a clicking but the car did not turn over. I shut it off and tried again this time it started. My lights are bright so I believe my battery is still strong. I believe it may be my starter if thats the case where is it located and is it a difficult job to replace. Also my alarm button does not work when I press to open the car. I changed the battery (CR2032) but it still does nothing. Any thoughts?
This problem is caused by burnt/worn contacts in the starter solenoid, it is a common issue on all Japanese designed gear reduction starters, they (the contacts) can be replaced, go to http://www.iowamotorparts.com/index.htm they have the parts, about $15, u will need a good set of auto skills to do this repair.
