SOURCE: 1997 ford crown victoria starting problems

Sounds like you're on the right track. A bad TPS and ISC motor sensor will cause the problems you're experiencing. Your ECM relies on the readings it gets from the TPS to be sure there is enough air getting to the engine. If the ECM gets a bad reading and thinks not enough air is getting to the engine, it will cut the fuel supply, hence causing your engine to die. Your ISC relies on the reading from the TPS as well. It detects from the ECM if the throttle plate is closed or not. If it thinks the throttle plate is fully closed, it will start allowing air to enter the engine and bypass the throttle plate. If your ECM starts seeing some unmeasured air coming from ISC and detects the throttle plate is open (which it may not be due to a bad TPS reading), the ECM will again cut the fuel supply to avoid the risk of detonation.

So, replace your TPS first and see if that cures your problem. Also, check the resistence readings of your ISC to be sure that is within spec. If your problem still occurs, check your Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor in your air filter housing. Be sure your spark plugs, plug wires, and distributor are all in good shape as well. Replace your fuel filter if you haven't done so in the past 2-3 years.
Good luck!

SOURCE: crown victoria window motor replacement

remove the door panel. be very careful and make sure you get all the screws out. Should be maybe 2 on the bottom half of the door, and 2 on the top half. one is right by the handle, which is the one i forgot the first time i took my door pannel off. carefully pull the panel upward, and outward at the same time. Once the panel is off, disconnect the controls, and remove the light from the panel. Remove the plastic cover very carefully, it will tear, just keeps noise, and air, and the elements out.
There will be 3 screws, they are torx bolts, once you pull those 3 out. They are located middle of the door towards the right side. The motor will drop down a little bit. disconnect the wires for the motor, and wiggle the motor off of the regulator. the crown vics have a decent size hole to get into the door panel, you can also remove the speaker if that would help you do it. other than that, it just lining up the new motor into the car, pushing it into the regulator, and putting the 3 bolts in, make sure they are snug, and not cross threaded. put everything back together, and your set.

1997 crown victoria has a hesitation and sounds like it's sucking air?

That sounds like a vacuum leak. Check all the hoses, and the power brake booster, listen around while engine is idling to find source of vacuum leak. Once leak is repaired, you may need the trouble codes cleared.

You can't adjust it, it is controlled automatically by a computer, if the idle is high there is a problem with the system.
