My 1995 Taurus wont fire in the morning

When i start the car in the mornings it turns over and even has small back fires but takes along time before it actually starts. After the car is running it will start no problem for the rest of the day until the next moring comes a long then its the same old thing. I was thinking its a clogged fuel filter. what do you think

it seemed to do fine for a few days and now its doing it again. it turns over, the battery works the starter works it even sputters like it wants to start but i just wont start. once i does start i works all day until the next morking the same thing happens. Could this be the distributor or spark plugs or does it sound gas related because if its the fuel pump i would think i would have this problem every time i start it not just in the morning when its cold.

Please let me know what you think

I fit was the fuel filter it would do it ll the time. Fuel filters are desinged to trap debris for 100,000 miles unless you get a load of bad fuel. I would ask an auto parts store if they can run a free scan of your engine computer to seee if it has fault codes stored.
Try this test. When it is acting up, spray about a 2 second blast of starting fluid in the air cleaner near the throttle body or a the air cleaner if that's easier.. Reassmeble the air cleaner and start the car. If it starts right away, then you have a lean fuel problem. Maybe injectors getting varnish on them. You can try adding some Chevron injector & fuel system cleaner to the tank. (Kmart).
Another test is to turn the key to "on", then after a few seconds turn it to "off". If you listen carefully, you should hear the fuel pump buzz for a few seconds. Then wait 20 seconds for the power relay to shut off, and then turn key to "on" again. That will start the fuel pump again for 3 seconds.
What that does is to get the fule system pressure up to 40 psi so the injectors have good pressure at start up. If this works, it means your fuel pump's check valve is allowing preesure to bleed of when the engine is off or the fuel pressure regulator is bad. good luck.

95 Chevrolet Silverado 5.7 v8, turns over but wont fire up.

Check the connection on the temperature sending unit/sensor on the engine. If it's disconnected the computer won't put it in cold start mode. If it's carbureted instead of EFI then the choke is not coming on. It's an electric actuated choke and the wire could have come off the blade/pin while driving the day before.

Motor wont start

do you hear the fuel pump working? and did you check the fuses? also check and see if the fuel cut of switch is on. it was typically located in the trunk by the hinges that hold th trunk or on the side but look in your owners manuel or google it. i would guess fuel pump in honesty.

It was sputtering from time to time... Had to give it a little gas this morning to get it to turn over... Came back from work...wont start cranking fine... just wont turn over 91 lebaron

well first off you want to make sure your getting fuel and if you are getting fuel then check the pressure to make sure it is were it should be you can rent them from autozone for free it got a deposit but you get it back when you return it . if fuel is good check your spark pull out spark plug have someone try to start car look at the plug if you have bright blue spark in all your plugs spark is fine if orangeish color spark change ignition rotor and distibutor cap and wires you might as well do it all if spark and gas are both good

check crankshaft postion sensor as hard starts and on most cars if there bad they wont start also check camshaft position sensor they both tell your cars pc when to fire spark and to what cylinder to fire it to

Wont stay running

This sounds like it is your ignition module not sending message o your computer letting know that the key is in the ignition and the car has been started. Replace the ignition module

Hard starts in the morning even though replaced most parts

Check the power to the cold start injector. (it's only going to have fire for a few sec. after the key is turned on). If the fire is good, replace the cold start injector. This injector is activated for a few seconds when the engen temp is low to add a little fuel lower down in the intake and closer to the pistons.
