Question about 2003 GMC Envoy

My radio, interior lights, etc do not work...

I charged my fuse box instead of the battery of my car on mistake. Now my interior lights will not work, my power windows do not work, etc. I looked on here and it stated that I blew the fuseable link between my fuse block and my battery. I was wondering how much do this cost to get fixed approximately.

I did the same exact thing tonight. I've hooked up the cables before but was a little distracted when I was doing it and hooked them up tot he fuse box as well! Now I don't feel like such an idiot knowing that someone else has done it.

Power windows and interior lights do not work

It may be a relay for the windows. Which is a box like fuse/switch. You wont be able to really test them but you can try replacing it with a new one. If the interior lights do not work there has to be a fuse for them, or a relay. The best thing i can recommend is to check the cars manual and look up fuses in the index to find out there uses and location. Most cars have two areas; under the hood on the firewall/fender near the battery, and on the drivers side of the dash. (either up under the dash or on the side) You can also check with your local parts store to see if they call for any relays to the windows which they should have and/or for the interior lights.

Hello, Seems you have done some good work in tracing the problem. It could be a bad Diode in the Alternator, disconnect the plug on the Alternator and see if the Voltage drops(engine off). But the tracing of the problem to the Power Window circuit and Interior lights merits further action.

You need to disconnect the Window motor, switches and so forth until you find the grounded part. There were some soldering issues in the Window motors when they were manufactured. The Drivers door has the additional Relay inside if you have the Auto-power feature

Your Battery needs to be fully charged and showing 13.2V-13.6V or the Battery is weak. Ford Anti-theft can even interrupt the Alternator from charging while you are driving. The Battery should be checked, but of course you still have the grounding issue which ran down the Battery for maybe Years.

I hope you found my solution very helpful in solving your problem.

Hey man the box your looking for is under is behind the fuse box on the drivers side. You have to remove the lower box that is already exposed to get to the relay box behind it.

THERE IS A FUSEABLE LINK BETWEEN FUSE BLOCK & BATTERY, IT IS BLOWN. THE FUSE IS AN INTERGRAL PART OF THE WIRE HARNESS.. YOU NEED TO REPLACE THE LINK. SIMPLY CUT OUT OLD LINK, SPLICE IN THE NEW ONE.
