Sounds like the seal in the new clutch master cylinder. I've seen that same problem in the hand brake system in small 2 and 4 seat airplanes. ( I'm and aircraft mechanic) The problem is not air in the lines so bleeding won't help. The piston seal is intermittantly failing to seal. That is whty the function can return without any apparent reason as the seal has seated itself. The only cure is to replace or rebuild the master cylinder. ( Yes, even new or rebuilt ones can have a defective or improperly installed piston seal)

Hope this helps

I have a 2000 Mazda Miata. The head lights work on bright but both go off on dim. I was thinking it maybe a fuse. any help.

Sounds like both dim filaments are broken.
But before you go off and buy a new headlight, try removing the headlight and run a positive lead to each side of the hi and low connectors. Negative is the center pin, like this -_- if dim works with a battery, then you need to replace your dimmer switch. If not, its the headlight itself.

Clutch is engaging more quickly than usual. Engages almost immediately when raised from floor. Pedal feels softer than normal.

Yes you are correct its to much free travel to start with as it sounds like you have to get the master or slave cylinder rebuilt with new rubber kit as its either loosing pressure going down or air getting in as you put pressure on it.
So take off the slave and master cylinders and have then honed out and new kits replaced and you should
be ok to bleed and drive ..

check that there is a good connection from the earth to body (a lot of electrical problems are earth related) also that the connections on the battery are firm. check that the battery has good voltage.
