1996 grand marquis mercury asb light stays on how to fix it

Im assuming your referring to the ABS light ? Check your wires to the ABS sensors... The sensors are located on all 4 wheels. Its possible that there is dust on 1 or more of the sensors...Try cleaning them...A good undercarriage and wheel wash should work.. To reset the computer take the POS and NEG battery terminals off and touch them together and clean the terminals and put back on..If this dont work then the sensors need replaced.. Id reccomend replacing all 4 at 1 time...

Hi there:
You are right, DTC P0058 - HO2S Heater Circuit High Voltage Bank 2 Sensor 2

As far as replacing them, the only thing that has me wondering about a wiring issue. Keep in mind that power comes directly from the engine computer. Either the wires are broken or the computer is bad.

Aditionally, in THIS LINK could fin other descrtipion test and details procedure.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

I would try this distributor, in fact, the coil and and distributor would be the first guesses of mine, after oxygen sensor. However, I would also ask them to do a compression test, and check the fuel PSI.

1998 Toyota Corolla - Car is bucking/chugging extensively when it's stopped. It doesn't do it when in park. I've changed the spark plugs, wires and put in fuel cleaner in the gas tank but nothing has...

It sounds as though its running on, usually caused by the fuel mixture being too rich. So the Oxygen sensor might be a good solution, but first I'd change the air filter if its not been changed for sometime. Or to disprove the air filter theory, just take out the air filter and see how it runs then. If its normal without, you need a new filter. You'll only need to run it for a (10) few miles without the air filter to see if it then runs ok.

Hello lwilde53,

It coolant level sensor is in the the bottom of the surge tank located on the right side fender sometimes it sticks tap on it and see if it comes lose. You can also unplug it and see if the light goes off. The sensor is not replaceable you need to replace the surge tank.

The car won't accelerate and the engine backfires.

If you haven't changed spark plug wires, do so. If you have, then check your timing / timing chain and check for vacuum leaks, or your egr. Good luck! let me know how it goes.

Check all bulbs, fuses, then relays (the flasher relay could be a 1 inch round silver type plug) (other relays are usually 1 inch square like black boxes).
Fuses and relays are located under dash or under hood marked in their location or in the manuel.
Also look for any obvious wire damage or rusted wires nearby why your there.
