I have a 2000 ranger. the airbags are not in it and the 5 beep 5 times is going off. is there a way to get this to stop

it sounds as if the fault codes are running and the audible alarm for the air bags is operating. Have a dealer service centre check it out and if that is the case then fit the air bags . After all the bags will save a life in the event of an accident.

Air bag light flashing on 1999 ford ranger

well, if your air bag light is flashing then your system is already disabled. You have no worries about it deploying on you or anything, it just means that there is a problem that needs to be resolved before the system will activate again and work. Just like a check engine light, the air bag computer will have a stored code that can be read with a code reader, not like the ones you can use at a parts store though. You need to have your codes read and that will tell you where the problem is.

Hello! The Air Bag Sliding Contact (ABSC) is more than likely faulty...See diagrams below....The removal of the ABSC is involved, I would suggest buying a repair manual before attempting repair...

2002 kia sportage air bag lite flashing on and off

unfortunately you would have to go to a dealer for that. Auto Zone or Advanced Auto can scan the car, but there isn't anything they can do for an air bag since it is a safety constraint. There are a lot of laws to abide by when messing with an air bag.

Air bag sensor

A possible solution. i have a 2002 ranger in which the air bag light would present itself. i discoved that the passenger air bag indicater bulb was out if i had the airbag on or off. its located next to the key switch. i pulled it appart and notice the bulb was bad. replacing it fixed the problem. there is a catch. this bulb is solderd to the circuit board and you have to get it from radioshack. is a simple task if have a solder kit. hope that helps.

The sensor that is located near the front bumber is bad. It's not hard to change. I had an accident a few months ago and rebuilt the front end of the truck myself. I had to replace the sensor.
