1989 Volvo 740 audio fuse 26 blowing

Completely removed the radio and fuse is still blowing. There must be something else in this circuit besides the radio. Replace fuse and radio worked for a while. Now the fuse blows quickly.

I had a friend who owns a small dealership make a call and he received a wiring schematic that showed that the radio has an external audio amp located under the dash below the steering wheel. The amp was shorted.

Check the starter itself. This is not the problem but it may be something that connects from there. Who knows.

I replace the heater blower in my 1989 volvo 740, the heat is now working but the problem is that it only blows after i turn it on #4, doesn't work on lower settings, pls advise

Geraldine,I would venture that the resistor board, usually mounted near the blower motor, has almost gone all the way bad. Have someone check it. Of course,it could be the blower speed selector switch, but probably not.

Where is the rotory cap on a 1989 740 volvo

The rotor cap (i am not sure if you meant distributor cap or rotor button, but ill answer them both) on a 1989 Volvo 740 is located directly at the back of the engine block, connected to the cam shaft. it is the orange plastic device that the spark plug wires snap into. the rotor button is the orange plastic part found inside of the distributor. to get to the rotor button you would have to remove the distributor with a 8 or 10mm wrench (sorry I cant remember which), there are 3 bolts to remove. it should take less then 5mins to do this. GOOD LUCK:)
