Question about 1999 Buick Park Avenue
Supercharged.. just chg'd the plugs. Check engine soon light comes on
and disappears after shutdown.. can go for days.. can come back on in minutes on a highway compute after shutdown. Two symtoms.. slight hesitation/chugging at low rpm in overdrive @ highway speeds.. 50 mph range.... and I note it seems to ride system is booting more often (slow leak..?). Dunno if the last item can give a code.
Buick dealership sez the computer can read a code... repair dude sez most often you need to bring it in with the light on.. ie.. "soft code".. Hence I've hesitated to spend the computer time $$. Buick dealer just went under.. the Buick dealership now I have low confidence in.
Appreciate any advice.. Thanks!
It sounds like one of the ignition wires is breaking down or possibly a coil. Get a squirt bottle of water and spray a mist on the plug wires and coil to see if a spark starts to jump out. Probably just a bad plug wire.
