Car dies once it get up to temp

Its a 1993 ford probe gt,the tube running from the air filter to the intake was cracked and replaced.that fixed the problem for about 2 weeks and now it is doing the same thing as it was with the crack.does that tell me it is the mass air flow sensor? it dies when it is all the way warmed up but you can keep it running if you give it a little gas but when it idles down it peters out

Follow this procedure I use for these kinds of stalls, please rate this info, thanks..

Here is the most common cause of surges and stalls and low idle, it is the idle speed control air-bypass valve and throttle valve, they get full of gunk over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

What would cause a 97 Ford Probe GT to idle rough and misfire at idle only Buck Run better when it's cooler outside and it also stalls when it has a rough idle

Check for any sources of unmetered air entering the engine. ( Vacuum leaks ). Check air intake hose going from air filter box to throttle assembly for any signs of splits/cracking causing a lean condition. Possible Air flow sensor dirty/defective

If it starts and runs, but then dies putting in gear or accelerating, check the thick ribbed rubber air intake hose between the throttle body and the air cleaner. Look for a crack in the ribs of the hose and replace if necessary. Common issue

Cant contoll idle on 93 ford escort it ether idles to high or to low very erratic

It has been my experience that the Idle air control valve on this engine is frequently the problem. It sits right on top of the engine atop the throttle body. It is very easy to replace with little or no experience. Two screws and an electrical connection. It is not cheap however. It will probably run you around $50-$75 for a new one. If money is tight you might try to find one in a salvage yard. Hope this helps.

Rough idle

look on the back of your accordian like air intake duct...you will find a small crack...hard to see unless you flex it or at least look carefully....electrical tape will work as a temporary fix. A new flexible air intake hose....which runs from the air flow control box on the fender to the throttle body on top of the engine is about $100....but you can get one from a wrecker for about 5.

Could it be my fuel pump?

A fuel pump is not the problem, they either work or not, u are most likely having a loose of ignition spark, possible ignition module.

duck tape on the air intake. I just fixed mine. There is a crack on the intake that lets too much air in when you put it in drive that makes the car stall. Try it it works.

I have a 1993 Ford Probe GT. As I was driving, the engine suddenly died without warning. It wouldn't start again. After waiting a few minutes, it did start. Now I have only been able to get it started...

Yes a fuel filter can cause the problem but I would say it's most likely the fuel pump or fuel pump relay. Can you hear the fuel pump running when you turn on the ignition?
