Blown fuse ,bad headlight switch,or wiring issue.
the tail lights have there own fuse and are powered through headlight switch. Do the front running lights come on? If none of them work, switch could be bad if front work and rears dont, check bulbs and power to them when lights are on
Did you check the fuses all so in the engine compartment fuse block? If you did check for loose wires at the bulb sockets, Loose ground wire conecting to the body, A break in a wire, If that is not the cause there is a short in the wireing, That should be check out at a auto electric shop,
Hi David, first check your fuses some have seperate fuses for running lights and headlights, next make sure bulb connections are clean and connecting also check all parking and break lights if 1 is out in rear sometimes they wont work also is your switch on dash or steering colum, either way your coulkd have a faulty switch, HOPe this helps
Make sure you have the switch adjusted properly....If you remove the switch without unplugging it
the brake lights should come on....You have to have the brake light switch button placed in perfect position so when you mash pedal the switch button will release from switch causing the lights to come on.......Be sure the bulbs are not burnt out.....just for a test turn switch on and remove switch from pedal area without unplugging it to check for brake lights........If they are not on check bulbs..........
the brake light switch is located in top part of the brake pedal and it controls all brake ligts the top and bottom lights use diferent power line, both come from brake light switch.
Did you check or replace the brake light bulbs? It is more common to have burnt bulbs than a bad brake light switch or blown fuse. Do you have orange signal lights and red brake lights at the rear? Then the signal light switch will not affect the brake lights.....but.... If they are all red and you use the same bulbs for brake and signal....the brake light wiring goes through the signal light switch and could be affected there. First....check for power getting to the brake light switch......and leaving it with a test light.......then go to the rear....pull a light assembly and check for power getting to the bulbs.no power? follow the wiring back to the switch looking for a bad connection. The fuses and relays under the hood are usually in a black plastic box labeled fuses and or relays.
check the brake switch located on a bracket under your driver side, on top of the brake pedel check for power, if power depress on your pedal see if there's nopower on the other side of the switch then replace the switch. I think it is the switch.
someone glued the back of it closed :( is there another way?
