If you take it to the dealership they have diagrams that they will pull up and make sure you are getting the right part they should even take a look under the hood for free, just talk to the parts guy, this will be the simplest way for you instead of us making a mistake by miscommunication over the internet without seeing it, unless you have a picture i would go to the dealership sorry im not that much of a help im just giving you the most reliable simplest way to get it fixed properly.

My 1997 Ford Taurus is leaking transmission fluid. It's coming from the line going into the transmission cooler. The line seems loose, is there a way i can fix this without changing the line?

it may have only vibrated loose at the cooler. there are line wrenches at all parts stores. you'll most likely, but not always need one to tighten that line up.i would try that first before a complete replacement. if it will not tighten you can use a thread tape like a plumber would use, apply it to the threads on the line and then try tighten it up.hope this helps and thank you for choosing

Line loose from 2000 ford taurus transmission thats goes to radiator

Those other guys are out of line and wrong.
Fellas if you just guessing stay out of it.
Taurus has "o" ring fittings with nylon retainers and are free to move. If its not leaking dont worry about it.

Ford tarus wont engage into reverse or forward

Check transmission fluid if low replace fluid with engine running look for leaks under car I would suspect a rusted out transmission line .Replace line or have line replaced with brake line of same size.refill fluid. If fluid is full check for loose or broken transmission linkage if none of the above are found replace or have transmission rebuilt.

Lines for transmission fluid from engine block to transmission leak

The two trans cooler lines run from the trans to the radiator, they are routed along the engine block.
If you can find which one is leaking you can cut the line and install a piece of 5/16 rubber gas hose and two clams to repair it.

96 taurus automatic does not shift properly

for the transmission to be acting like this, theres a good chance that you will need to flush out the transmission. over time and miles, the trans becomes contaminated with particles such as metal shavings from the movement within, and small particles that have gotten throughout the lines from radiator.
