There is a fuse that is blown,one fuse runs both dash and parking lights

You may have a bad headlight switch or bad wiring in it. i had the same problem recently, changed the headlight switch and was all set.

Check if the ground wire is connected in front of the truck where the engine bay is if ground wire is not connected the lights will not work

Sounds like the the parking light fuse blew.Under the dash there is a fuse block.you will see fuses there and remove the fuse to see if blown.If so replace with same type fuse.Anymore questions will be glad to help you...
