The heater on my 02 mondeo takes about 30 minutes to start working properly, if I put the blower on too soon the temperature gauge shoots down, any ideas?

It sounds like the thermostat is stuck open. The thermostat is closed until the coolant in the engine gets heated up. Once it get hot, the coolant is cycled to the radiator to be cooled by air passing thru it. The coolant that was in the radiator is cycled to the engine where it is heated - or more properly termed, is used to cool the engine to keep it from overheating and seizing. The heated coolant is used to provide heat for the cabin in cold months.

Heres a video showing the job on a 2001 Mondeo and should be pretty similar job.

My ford mondeo 1.8 turbo deisel fails to start on mornin but once it started it runs drives mint an start every time

Hi This problem is usually caused by one or more glow plugs not working, these glow plugs heat
the combustion chamber which is nessersary for a cold starting ( the first start of the day ).
Its best to replace them all as they may be all the same age. they are not to bad to replace just
be carefull not to over tighten the small nuts which hold the electrical connection.
I hope i have been able to help you

Diesel engine turns over but takes ages to start, once started seems to be ok, then battery light comes on.

theres many potential faults but most likely is faulty heater plugs or relay UNLESS its direct injection. battery light is most likely due to a faulty alternator. if the engine turns over slowly then both the battery and alternator may be to blame.

Ford F250 turbo diesel cut out and died as left house this morning, cold morning. Will not start, not even a cough. Have new fuel filters, need location of the filters, anything else I should check?

if you have the 6.0 then the filters are located on top on the motor right beside your oil filter and under the drivers side on the fuel pump, check to see if you have diesel in your bowl where the fuel filter is, no diesel in there your fuel pump might be dead, check fuses to fuel pump and check relay on the passengers side kicker panel, check your owners manual

Dont worry, many deisel engines have these troubles after aging. Check the heaters, whether they have any trouble.

Ford moneo turbo diesle s reg

there is a pipe witch runs from the diesel pump to the turbo which monitors pressure. sometimes a thin membrane in the pump goes releasing diesel straight in to the turbo especially on tick over. eventually that diesel is sucked in to the engine along with all the other gunk where it starts revving up on its own rattleing and banging. i have come across this on lucas diesel pumps before
