My problem is reeving system in jeep grand. Cherokee its not reeving

Jeep grand cheerkee.
what year.?
which of 3 engines> or more>?

my guess is revving , means, (its good word)
means, car dont move?
the transmission slips? (engine RPM rises fast , but car does not accelerate in the same proportions)
or the RPM fail to rise, that means the engine Lacks power
those 2 are polar opposites.
engine problem
transmission slip. (flare)
2 paths to walk. do not guess. or it gets expensive fast.

Low rpm 500rpm

IF you have changed the air intake system then you interfere with the air velocity that the sensor reads to judge how much air is required by the engine You will probably experiencing other problems as well such as poor fuel economy and lack of power at certain revs.. If you want to use the mods you have made you may have to have the chip reprogrammed

Loss of power until RPM gets above 2500

Hi Martin, As your vehicle is fitted with a distributer, try resetting the ignition timing. I believe it requires setting with a strobe and it should be idling at 750 rpm (manual box). I'm not expecting a drastic improvement with that action, because I'm suspecting that maybe the engine has been overheated at some time or another and you may need a cylinder head job carried out. I'm suspecting a blown gasket between cylinders. The higher the rpm the less leakage and the greater the power output. That would explain the lack of power up to 2500 rpm Regards John

My 2001 jetta is bogging out. you step on the gas, it starts until the RPM,s get up and then looses power. You can get to about 3000 rpm and go throught the gears but will only hit 80 km/h depending on...

Possibilities could include clogged fuel injectors, worn spark plugs, bad coil pack, bad plug wires, clogged catalytic converter, bad or dirty maf sensor.

MAFS may need adapting into system. (equipment required)

If still no joy try spraying EGR cleaner into intake to clean system out.

Engine lacks power

the probes use the mazda motor.... the engine light is caused by a lean fuel mixture...this happens on almost every american motor..its the ecu tuning. this is a way for the a-spec motor to have less horsepower, but they detuned too far. if you replace the ecu with the j-spec one you will not have the light, and gain somewhere around 15 hp im not sure how much or how dramatic the losing power thing is but i do know that the 2.5l motors love LOVE the rpms... so 3,000 rpm is really where the motor starts to run good, other than that im not sure
