2003 Ford Expedition Heater not working

I have a Ford Expedition 2003 SUV and the heater stopped working on it. It works once in a while but now it seems to not work at all. What could be the problem and how could it be fixed. A/C works perfect but doesn't throw out any heat when I change the knob to red. Please help me!

I have the same problem with my heat on my 99 Ford Expedition. It works when it feels like it or not at all....mostly not at all.

We are having the same problem, however the rear heat may work at times when the front won't, then the rear won't work, and front will. Sometimes they both work great too..

why would they design such a time consuming problem is ford offering any kind of help for a 10-15 hour repair or is this mechanic just slow???? has to be another way to bypass the motor or open the door manually...no wonder the auto makers are in such a peril...

I have a 99 Expedition and the heating system seems to be tanking. It's now barely warm at times or blowing out cold air at other times. Any help? I can't afford a 10 hour dash removal job at the Ford dealership.

This is all to common an issue in many Fords starting in the mid 90's, reason they went to a electric motor to control the air blend door , this motor moves the door air that diverts heat or cold from the AC, or mixes or blends it,the motor has failed or the door is stuck in the air duct, the bottom line is that to fix either problem the dash must be removed, no a job for the home mech, takes about 10-15 hrs to complete.

My '99 expedition heater quit working. The blend door is fine. I suspected that the heater core was clogged. I changed the heater core (what a pain in the ___) !!!! This did not fix the problem. Turns out the impeller on the water pump was completely rusted away. I guess that the only reason the truck would not overheat was because it's so cold outside. (No thanks to GLOBAL WARMING).

I have a 2003 Expedition and the front heat works but rear blows cold air. Any advice?

Well the first thing I would want to know is if the rear heater core is getting hot.
You can check the heater hoses if they are accessable, or pull the cover off the unit next to the third row seat and check the core.

2003 ford expedition air condition works fine hot air doesnt work

If both heater hoses are getting hot, it could be a blend door problem under the dash.
The blend doors direct air thru the heater core and the vents.
