I need to change stop light bulbs in my 1998 lincoln town car

How do I get to the bulbs to change them?

Open the trunk, and pull the linning away from the body. It should easly move. you have access to the lighting fixture. determine which is the stop light and turn the base counterclockwise to open. remove the blown bulb. To install the new, do not touch with your bare hands, use a soft cloth or paper towel to seat the bulb into its socket. reinstall by truning the bulb clockwise to seat in place. Press your linner back into place.

do a continuity test with multimeter on bulbs if you hear a bleeping you know bulbs are fine so then I would check wiring you may have a loose connection.

How to replace lincoln town car 1998 tail lights

You must pull back the trunk lining and then remove the plastic nuts that reatain the entire light assembly to the car, move it back abnd then replace bulbs. This is outlined in the factory owners manual i believe.

If the hight mount brake light is working , then your switches , fuses , relays , are OK . Most likely problem is that the bulbs themselves are burnt out , or there is a broken or loose wire.

Tail lights out, but breaks lights work

Some tail lights/brake lights have duel filaments. Meaning they use the same bulb for both functions try changing the bulbs.

My 98 lincoln town car, brake lights and blinkers stopped working I checked all the fuses and they are good. where do I go from here?

check the bulbs. These two circuits are also controlled bt the turn signal control or pass through it. do your front lamps come on but not flash?
