IS THIS SIMILAR TO THE MODERN 'CHECK ENGINE' LIGHT? I HOPE SOMEONE CAN HELP ME.

If this is a transporter chassis with rear engine then check the rubber pipe that connects from the laft side of engine to a pipe that runs too front (servo) you will find that this peice of pipe is porous causing it to **** in air, also the idle will be all shakey and pulling off a plug lead on idle on the left bank will not make any difference.Just renew this pipe its about four inches long and half inch internal bore.

How much money is a 1986 westfalia VW camper van with refrigerator and stove bed worth

For a vehicle that is 28 years old, the red book value would be close to junk value. However if you advertise it, it will be worth what some one is willing to pay for it. . Place the add in publications that cater for the traveller / back packer age group for best results.

How many times should it take to start westfalia in the cold

Try your question again with model year and symptoms. Based on you question as written the simple answer is "once."
Different model years have different systems and starting procedures but ultimately a properly functioning vehicle (regardless of age) should start right up.

Can't find out how much my 1986 VW camper van is worth ?Went everywhere .all sites just want to sell.I just want to know the price of what mine is worth.

It depends on what options your camper has, i.e. pop-up top, refrigerator, sink and general overall condition and mileage. I've seen alot around $2000.00 to $10,000 for a Westfalia with a pop-up top, and 40,000 miles.

Turn the seat around on a VW van?

There is a small round metal wire that comes out of the front center of the seat. If you sit on the seat, while depressing the wire down, and pivot using your body weight, the seat should turn. Sometimes spraying the black seat mount is necessary to lube it. You may have to remove the seat if rusty or very dirty. To do that, slide the seat as far forward as possible, then lift the small metal lever on the left side of the seat, to release the lock on the track allowing the seat to move forward off the track. Note: both the passenger and drivers seats should turn on your model.
