I hear the motor trying to bring it up. I took apart the door panel and it looks like a black hose or cord of some kind with a metal ball at the end has come off of something not sure where it goes. The metal ball looking thing at the end will come out from inside the cord or hose if you pull on it similiar to a brake on a bike where you have to pull on the wire inside a plastic encasing wire if you have any idea what I am saying, I just don't know how to word what it is I am looking at. Should be able to use the same motor, looks like the regulator will cost you a $100.57 from the dealership . Some vehicles you have to replace everything when a regulator goes out and then the costs mount.
SOUND LIKE POWER WINDOW MOTOR GONE.YOU NEED TO REMOVE DOOR PANEL AND USE A TEST LIGHT TO HOOK TO POWER WINDOW MOTOR WIRE CIRCUIT TEST LIGHT SHOULD LIGHT UP TO SEE IF ITS GETTING POWER TO WINDOW MOTOR.IF NOT GETTING POWER YOU HAVE A SHORT IN MOTOR WIRES.IF YOU SEE OR HEAR THE WINDOW MOTOR TRYING TO MOVE WINDOW.THE WINDOW GLASS REGULATOR COULD BE BAD CAUSING THE WINDOW IN A BIND NOT MOVE.
I had the same issue with the passenger side rear window. I took the panel off (one screw under the window switch and one screw located behind the door handle. There is a small black cover over the screw.) I then took the motor off of the door and track system. After the track was off, I plugged the motor back into the wiring harness and tried the switch. Mine actually worked and the gear spun, if not, it will be a pricey window motor about $150-$250 depending on where you get it. Good luck! Sean
my wifes 2003 tiburon has the same problem... passenger side window has a hard time going up or down when it feels like working at all. it is the motor because i tested the for power and their is... if your a "hands on" person, you can try and change it yourself but be advised its very tricky... seperating the motor from the regulator... cable may come apart and be impossible to reconnect... its easier to take apart the motor when the windows down... and their should be 7 10mm nuts holding the motor.
The same thing happened to my 1999 JMC Jimmy recently. I believe the problem is that your power window motor has most likely gone out or is starting to go out. The motor will need replaced. They are pretty expensive new. I went to a junkyard and got one for around 15 dollars. When mine went bad, I had rolled my window down about three or four inches and it stuck there. I took my door panel off and tapped on the motor while holding up on the window switch and got it to go up after a few minutes. I am replacing my motor today, I'll leave an update here about the outcome when I finish the job. I hope this information helps you.
sounds like bad regulator, pull your door panel apart and it is the part that goes onto the motor. long bow shaped thing with cable attached. pop out rivets, (I think 3 rivets) and on the upper side there are 2 nuts that have to be removed. then wiggle it around till you can get it out of the biggest hole in door. Good Luck.
