Unfortunately this is all to common a problem in these computer electronic clusters. You will need to call the dealer and find out where they send the instrument clusters for rebuilding in your area. Cost is about $250.00 if you do the removal and installation after repair.

I have a Ford F350 Lariat Super Duty Diesel with the 6.0 engine. wha would cause the oil pressure to drop complete when I come to a stop but run normal when going down the road?

Your oil is under pressure as it is circulated through the engine, and at low RPM there is less pressure pumping the oil around. With the broken dipstick, I presume there is an oil-pressure leak and at normal operating speed there is enough capacity to maintain proper pressure, but the leak is more than the engine can overcome at low speed. I would suggest replacing the broken dipstick.

I have a 94 audi 80 and the rpm gauge just stopped working and the check engine light came on. The car runs fine no issues, oul levels are fine but just the rpm gauge suddenly stopped working

Not sure what is causing it, but it sounds like you're running on 3 cyllinders. Check plugs, wires, timing . timing belt may have jumped, bad injector, low fuel pressure.

Have a reputable garage check the oil pressure with a manual oil pressure gauge. Very well may have worn internal parts, or weak oil pump. Thats the only way to know for sure.

CAN A OIL PRESSURE GO DOWN TO 25 WHILE IN GEAR AND 40 WHILE HITING THE GAS IT SHOLD STAY AT 40 45 NORMALY NO MATER WHAT RIGHT ITS A 2000 DENALI 4X4 I DO HAVE ISSUES WITH 02 SENSORS IS THAT THE REASON WHY

Oil pressure is not constant, while idiling the pressure is less than when accelerating. Usually when the oil pressure gauge fluctuates it is a sign of low oil level.

Engine runs fine oil checks out good yet oil light comes on?

You need to verify that oil pressure is ok.
They sell gauge at the parts store which has to be connected to the engine block via oil pressure sender hole.
For that , take out oil pressure sender(unscrew) and screw the gauge in to the hole (con thread).Run the engine and see if pressure is ok at idle and on higher RPM.Gauge suppose to have scale (norm. , low , high ).If oil pressure within specs , repl. oil pressure sender.
Or just replace oil pressure sender and see if that helps. They are not expensive ~ $30.00 , gauge probably the same money.

I would suspect that you have a weak or failing oil pump, however before condemning the pump I would do a physical oil pressure check with a gauge. Oil pumps are not easy to replace so lets make sure it is the problem before replacing it. For reference yours can be done with the motor in the vehicle.

Physical Pressure Test:

This may require you to tuck a oil pressure gauge under the driver side wiper arm and go for a short drive to make the situation replicate. Depending on how you hook up the gauge (in place of oil pressure switch) the light will be on full time during the testing and this is ok. If you can replicate this symptom that you are reporting in the drive way in gear it is desirable as you can better read the gauge.

The oil pressure should be:

3.0L = Oil pressure should be 6 PSI at idle and 35-75 psi at 3,000 rpm with engine at normal operating temperature.

3.3L = Oil pressure should be 5 psi at idle and 30-80 psi at 3,000 rpm with engine at normal operating temperature.

You see that there is a large "in spec" region for the 3,000 rpm range as listed. I would look for the pressure to be at the higher end of the scale and the idle pressure to be right in spec. If any of these pressures are low I would suggest changing the oil pump.

If your motor is one that I have not listed here please comment back and I will provide the appropriate spec per the motor in your van.

My stop light keeps coming up with the problem oil pressure,i have a golf gti turbo

Get the oil pressure tested with an outside gauge. If you run short of oil pressure, turbo and engine will suffer, as you know....

If you are actually short on pressure, you would need to investigate further, usually no good answers there....

But commonly a transducer fails and gives wrong readings, hope for this result
