Question about 1999 Chevrolet Suburban
I was parked and my car (chevrolet suburban 1999) was idling when i heard a weird noise. the noise was like a grinding and a few squeaks. i immediatly turn the vehicle off when i seen smoke coming out of the hood. so i let it sit a while about ten minutes and drove it to the nearest gas staion and i didnt hear anything again but i notice the heat was off. when i turn the heat on. thats is when i heard a grinding, and squeaking noise coming from inside the car (chevrolet suburban 1999). when i raise the hood, there was smoke and few sparks coming off the ?pulley? that rotates the belt. then the smoke increased. i turned the heat off and the problem seem to go away but i could still smell burning smoke.
Most likely AC clutch assembly. Have it checked & unplug wires to it, if necessary, to use temporarily, so that clutch doesn't engage.
