Question about 1987 Chevrolet S-10 Pickup

1 Answer

The heater door that directs the airflow is stuck

This is on a 2000 Chevy Silverado Pickup.
The heater door that directs the airflow from defrost to floor, panel does not move. When the blower switch is turned to 1 and then moving the switch to change airflow, sometimes the door moves, but then the next time is will stay in the defrost mode.

There is a plug/electrical that is almost directly below the dash on the hump of the floor board. right hand side of it. below carpet though. move connection there and see if it affects it. there is a wiring issue on I know 03 and on where harness that connects to blower motor melts. also has a "resistor" that goes bad. you can buy both from gm dealer.

Air conditioner switch is stuck in defrost position what to do

Problem is usually a stuck or faulty blend door motor under the dash.
The blend doors direct air thru the heater and ac evaporator as well as the vents.

Stays hot when I turn off heater only cools off when vehicle cools down

Chevy pickup common problem. Most likely blend door stuck in heater box. Could be the vacuum supply line broken or the linkage sticking.

the heater & defroster baffles are controlled by electic motors that open and close the baffle (doors) to let the air to the heater and defroster vents. the motor must be bad

I have a 2000 Chevy Silverado pickup, and the heater will not blow hot air. I replaced the thermostat, and nothing changed. The radiator was flushed and filled in the last two months as well. I have all...

once truck is warm check both heater core hoses to make sure they are both warm if not then check the cold water valve could be stuck shut not allowing coolant to travel in to heater core.

2000 chevy astro cargo van. the heat registers on the gage but little comes out and only out defrost. thermostat????

If it is blowing hot air out of the defroster and not out of the heater vents then the door that directs the heat from the defroster isn't working properly it is blocking the heat from going to the heater vents. Also check the cold air door. It sounds like it isn't closing all the way to shut off the cold air and not letting the hot air pass.

Need to know where the heater core and heater control valve are for a 2000 chevy silverado 1500 v8. not sure if it has a heater control valve

The heater core is on the passenger side under the dash within the heater airflow contoller box. If you had Xray vision and could look straight through the glovebox, then you would see it. The heater control vale for the water flow is on the passenger side top of the engine near the firewall. It will have a domed top with a vacuum line to it and it is placed into the heater core supply hose.
