Question about 1991 Pontiac Sunbird
I HAD JUST PURCHASED A 91 SUNBIRD W/A2.0L WITH A TRANSMISSION LINKAGE PROBLEM.THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE LINKAGE IS BOUND UP TIGHT THE PREVIOUS OWNER SAID THAT HE TRIED TO ADJUST IT BY LOOSINING AND TIGHTINING THE NUT WITH A IMPACT (WHAT AN IDIOT).MY QUESTION FOR U IS DOES THIS SOUND EASILY FIXABLE BY JUST DROPPING THE PAN AND SEEING WHATS BROKE OR WILL I NOT BE ABLE TO SEE THE LINKAGE WITH JUST THE PAN DROPPED.ANY INFO WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED
Disconnect the shifter cable linkage at the trans. then shift the trans through the gears. if it shifts easily ,replace the shifter cable
