Question about 1997 BMW Z3 Roadster

I have to smog this guy. bought it with illegal cold air intake... have two solutions(from the aftermarket world that i know of) : the DInan or K&N makes a 50 state legal , CARB stickered California emissions control standard.  but i know of no other...? I am trying to even locate an original used part so i can pass smog with out shelling out $250 or so. which i'm willing, if i absolutley have too.  I need to see what the original cars engine (the M52 I understand)  diagram looks like for the 2.8l. so i would like the best advice in replacing the air intake and where can i get a free look at a diagram to see the original part location and such. thanks for your time guru
