My car knocks 3 times after shut down. There is about a 2 sec delay between each knock. It is important to note that the engine is completely off at this time. exact description of issue: Ignition...

try to use 93 octane gas. most likely water is in the gas that you are using and it can cause your car to knock, which is also known as bad gas. try getting your gas from a different source and use 93 octane gas.

1996 mecedes c 180 shuts power when i press clutch to change gear

just I would like to ask you a question before giving any answer. Do you have the power shut off at any time you press the clutch ? Is it only just whilst clutch pressed? If so means that either you have worn thrusts on the engine crankshaft, where on applying to clutch you push forward the crankshaft and makes the engine running tighter where it shut off power. My advise is to visit a workshop and request a qualified mechanic to check this case as it is easy for him to get the crankshaft pulley in to his hands, pull and push it and if is what I said he will note the knock .

My 2001 HYUNDAI Tiburon's clutch knocks whenever I push the clutch down. This just started happening today.

Sounds like the forks release ams on pressure plate or release bearing b/o. In either case you have to remove tranny to repair, so you should replace clutch, pressure plate and release bearing. Especially if you have lots of mileage on vehicle.

Car started noise like nock ing that was from Clutch in AC copmressor

It could be the compressor is going out, or the clutch itself is worn out. If the AC still gets cold, then it is the clutch.

Engine knocking

Hi,
Good news is - I don't think you need a new engine.

As there are many moving parts that could create a knocking sound, it usually needs careful inspection to identify where it is from.
I will give a list of some of the causes and remedies. Yours will probably be one of them, but unless I was there - it could be any.

Loose exhaust component (causes rattles and thumps) - replace parts or joints.
Loose Engine mounts - Engine will move about a lot more than normal - Replacement of mounts.
Fraying Belts - causes continual ticking or slapping - Replace belts and check tension.
Timing is off - bad running, lack of power, pre ignition or knocking at low revs. Check timing belt - Replace, Tune engine.
Cracked valve - slight misfire worse at low revs - Replacement valves.
Clutch Problems - Broken spring or loose bolt - Check clutch plate - replace clutch plates.
Older engines - often accompanying smoke -
Broken Piston ring - continual ticking or occasional misfire - Replace Piston rings
Worn Piston bearings - Piston Slap - Replacement of all piston bearings.

Transmission Problems (only heard when in gear or with clutch out) - Broken gear teeth or worn bearings - Replacement of Transmission or rebuild.

Some of these remedies require engine removal and strip down, others are a simpler fix.
