Question about 1999 Ford Explorer
I have a 1995 ford f150 and when I go up a steep grade the a/c will turn off. I can live with that. My 1999 ford explorer does any time i excellerate and it makes a sound like some door closed .
you have a vacuum leak probably the vacuum storage canister in the engine compartment.
The a/chas a cutoff for full throttle aceleration so that's why it cuts out on step grades. Let of the gas just a little to get it to stay on.

You are boiling the brake fluid and hence the sinking pedal, go to silicone based synthetic fluid, it will not boil, all the old fluid must be flushed from the system before installing this fluid, this should cure your problem for good.

remove drive belt then aquire the clutch removal tool from Auto zone or Napa, there is a specific puller designed to remove this clutch,in some cases in order to hold the pulley while removing center nut or bolt you must use a chain wrench with an old leather belt wraped around the pulley to protect the v-ribs on pulley in order to get the pulley bolt or nut loose the clutch will just turn when trying to loosen center nut if you don't use the chain wrench to hold it, after removing said nut or bolt attach the puller to the clutch and while holding it stationary with the chain wrench proceed to turn the shaft of the puller to remove the clutch, it should pop free after a couple of turns with a socket wrench of the appropriate size. PS use the chain wrench ($22.00 Auto zone) only in the corerect direction it does not clamp effectively either direction. also sometimes there is special holding tool for certain clutches, consult Napa or the dealer before buying the chain wrench it may not be effective in holding the clutch while trying to remove center bolt.

Ford truck was running fine then it just shut's OFF, afterwards did start once stayed on for a couple of minutes then shut off again. A friend thinks it's the computer after checking the car. Note I did pressure wash the engine 2 day's before and didn't use it till now.

The PAD ( Passenger Airbag Deactivation ) light is inoperable.
Could be unpluged if you have been working around there, or the bulb could be out.
Radio shack sells the same type bulb, if you are good with soldering it is an easy fix.
