I just bought this 1997 cadillac eldorado and the trunk won't open when i push the trunk button but you can hear it pop but even if someone is pulling on it while i hit the button it still won't open and even with the key so please help me out if u can any help is apreahded soory for bad spelling?

I would check the owners manual or with Cadillac - its possible the remotes lost part of the signal and need to be reset. It sounds like the receiver is not getting a signal from them by using that button. Could be the receiver too.
Fixed. In the glove box there is a vallet button. I pushed it and now my trunk and fuel door work. and what this has to do with my trunk and fuel door not functioning , I have no idea. Hope this helps someone else.
if the key opens the trunk by hand, the problem is most likely the electric actuator or its linkage on the backside of the lock assembly accessible thru trunk or lid check linkage and wire connector first, check for voltage at connector when release button is pushed.. reply back if you have further questions...MK
