Normal, no such thing, it completely depends on driver habits. I there is no check engine light on the engine is running correctly. Common things that affect fuel consumption are: Tire pressure low, dirty engine Air filter, state of tune, oil type used, altitude, heavy foot.
high fuel consumption
Petrus, sticking E brake, poor gas, tune up needed, lazy O2 sensor,
leaking injectors, driving habits, etc. all can cause more fuel consumption. Have it scanned to help determine cause.
fuel consumption higher driving in the city because you are stopping and accelerating causing more fuel get car in motion.to help fuel consumption problem some, replace air filter, keep check on tire pressure.low tire pressure will cause fuel consumption.
Do you remember by chance speed vs RPM before & after work done? for example : before was 2000 RPM @ 60 MPH. Now 2200 RPM @ 60MPH ? May be coincidence, and transmission not shifting to overdrive or high gear.
A Honda Accord is a full size car/heavy and therefore would have high gas consumption, probably around 8~10 Km/L city driving. Highway would roughly be 10~12 depending on your driving habits.
A full tune-up of course would help which may include but not be limited to change of sparkplugs, adding car/injector cleaner to the tank, checking/replacing the air cleaner, double checking/cleaning/replacing the MAF (if it has got one).
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
