Hello I have a 2011 Volkswagen golf trendline 2.5L 5 cylinder manual transmission I ran out of gas and killed the battery trying to start it after I put about a quarter of a tank in it. I push started it...

I don't know if this will help you or not, but I've had several friends with Volkswagens & have run across this problem after they ran out of gas.
the fuel line ran close to the exhaust manifold & the gas would vaporize in the fuel line, causing a vapor lock in the line, starving the engine of fuel.
the fuel line had to be taken off at the carburetor & fuel sucked up through the line.
future problems were eliminated by rerouting the fuel line.

2005 ford f150 won't stay started without me on the gas

check you Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve (EGR) its probably full of carbon and has stuck open allowing too much exhaust gases into the intake manifold starving the engine of oxygen and killing it but when you add gas it stays running because of physics and it is adding more fuel and sucking more clean air. If the EGR is dirty clean it with some carb cleaner if that don't work replace it. also check your Idle Air Control valve (IAC) these also tend to get dirty but not like the EGR valve. if it is clean I would still replace due to the fact that it is an small electric motor that is working all the time.

2001 cad sts shuts off while driving

Turn the key to the on position and listen for a buzzing sound. If you do not hear one you have a bad fuel pump. If you do hear the buzz, Replace the fuel filter. If it is clogged it could starve the engine for fuel which would obviously kill the motor.

Starts up raght shuts off raght

Starts raght up, shuts raght off. Ri-i-i-ght? I don't want to be a stewie griffin and cast aspersions, but please clean up your grammar, over.

This could be a fuel or an ignition problem. There are other possibilities too, but first check fuel and ignition. Have the fuel pressure tested for the fuel problem. If pressure is correct for your car, then the ignition system or circuit would need looked at. Sometimes a malfunctioning sensor the computer needs for spark control and timing will cause the computer to shut down the engine. A mechanic or tech would have to run some testing. You could check if your air filter is completely clogged with dirt or trash-that will starve an engine and kill it. When was your gas filter last changed?
Have you seen the classic skit between Stewie and Brian, with stewie playing electrician, talking to Brian over a walkie-talkie, and driving Brian nuts about using the word over after every transmission on their talkers? It is hilarious! Reminds one of the old Abbot and Costello "Who's on Third?" routine. Well, good luck, Ty, over.

1. Engine seems to be starved for gas while driving; intermitten problem. Lasts for a few seconds. 2. Is there a cabin air filter? If so, where is it?

Check for a clogged fuel filter for the gas starving problem. Couldn't find any info on a cabin air filter for your vehicle and with it being that old I'm pretty positive it would not have one.

It does it more uphill because the engine needs more fuel. Its starving. How about replacing the fuel filter.

Car Starts but wont go.

It could be a couple things. There may be a vaccuum leak in the fuel system such as a bad EGR or PCV valve or the throttle position sensor. I'm leaning towards the throttle position sensor needing replaced. The throttle position sensor reads how far you're pressing on the gas peddle and then feeds that to the computer telling it how much gas to feed to the engine. If that sensor isnt working right then your car will get enough gas to start and idle but will starve for gas as soon as you try drive and will then stall.
