Question about 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix

Low Fuel & loss of all gages randomly after stero install

I bought a harnes and installed a CD player in my 2005 Grand Prix. Stereo and everything works great but randomly while driving down the road of sometimes just when you start the car the low fuel will come and and none of my gages will work for a short time then they will come back. Is there a different harness or something that I need to get to hook up? Please help this is very frustrating.

I had a 1995 c1500 and the wipers went out. i took it to the dealer and they took the radio out and put a new one in. the wipers worked fine. they told me that the radio controled 15 different things other than the radio its self. i would put the factory one back in and see if the problem continues. if it solves the problem i would get a harness from a installer that the local super center or an automotive store

I installed a after market cd player bought a wire harness to plug right in and now my windows locks and gages do not work please help its cold and my windows are half down

Unplug the stereo system and check your fuse box. Locate the fuse that blew and replace it.
At this point you may want to consider having a professional install the stereo. Good luck and...stay warm!

How to open the dash and install a new cd player from the factory cd player

Some call for a small long skinny screwdrivers in all four holes at same time to release factory player. Others, you can take a butter knife and work all the way around factory stereo to flatten out the metal holding tabs that hold it in place. The trip will pry off with flathead screwdriver

Installing an aftermarket CD player.

Go to a stereo sales & installation shop, or even auto parts places usually have them now too, and get an adapter harness for your particular vehicle. They plug directly in to your existing harness, then you simply wire your new stereo to it,via directions. Few bucks now, will save hours of aggravation later,.and if you decide to sell vehicle later, and put old one back in, it's all there to plug back in, nice & clean.

Replace stock cd player from one brand of car to another.

Check at stereo sales/install place, or most auto parts stores have them now, and ask for adapter for wiring & plate for mounting in what ever vehicle you decide. It makes things a lot neater, & easier. Take player in with you to make sure, mounting plate is correct.
