How do I get to it? How do I change it? Where can I get a diagram?

Here a good for online repair with good pictures...www.autozone.com.....just pick make and rest..then on top left type what part ..product search .. you want hit go..click on the part.. then scroll down . at the bottom of the you will see repair manuals just click on it..

is your heater core hooked up, on most vehicles there are two hose on the left side under the hood that goes thru the fire wall if they are not there then that,s your problem bad heater core.

Here are the diagrams for the 2 gasoline engines for that year. You didn't mention your engine size. I hope this helps and good luck.

I have a customers 2002 Ford Taurus that has a problem with very little heat to the interior. We tried simple fixes like a new thermostat and also found the cabin filter plugged. I now have good airflow...


Have you considered flushing out the cooling system?? I think if the heater core is plugged up with a film internal your not going to get efficient heat

Try this article. I have the same problem and I think it is the vacuum motor that controls the door for changing from hot/cold in the rear heater box (located inside behind the L rear wheel)

Amongst other things, this is a symptom of a bad coil. For the low cost of changing it, it is worth a try. Please post your results.
