My heated seats in my 2001 JGC have had problems. There are 2 elements in each seat, a bottom or **** one and a back element. I just got a quote to fix the one element in the passenger side for the **** area and it was $ 500. I called one junk yard to try and find the element -it looks like a heating pad- but no luck. You might want to have someone check the power to the switches too make sure it's not that first. The element is the expensive part. Also, I had my driver side element replaced (under warranty) after it was a 1 1/2 old and at that time they told me that it cost $ 400+.

I just purchased a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited and I have heated seats. The driver heated seat works great, but the passenger seat doesn't seem to work. The light comes on, but the seat never gets warm. Hmmm. Any ideas? I hope this is a minor issue. Any solutions please email me ASAP!!!! This winter is brutal. Thanks in advance. Ty

I am a tech for chrysler jeep and dodge for the models such as your jeeps there is a recall for the heated seats we replace the elements.and also something could have spilled and got into the connections causing a short.check with your local dealer and see if the recall applys to your jeeps.

I need a fuse box diagram for a 2001 jeep grand cherokee, my heated seats do not work.

The heated seats in the years you mention in Jeeps are famous for going out. At your dealer, you can get a new kit for replacing it. It should come with instructions, but if not, just type in the subject for your year car in google, should be easy to find. They are quite easy to put in.

Heated seats do not work

First off, I would contact your local Jeep dealer and have them run your VIN # to check for any recalls. The 1999-2004 Grand Cherokees had a recall on the seat heaters. If your vehicle doesn't fall into the VIN # range then either your seat heater switch has gone out, or you have a broken element in the seat heater. I have replaced more seat heaters than switchsm the elements heat up and break. Hope this helps out.

Best of luck

The heated seats in my jeep grand cherokee don't work, is there anything I can do ?

Check the fuse(s), then the relay, check the plugs under the seat (they can come undone), otherwise it might be a bad heater patch (meaning you need to replace it).

Heater seats dont work but light comes on.

Ok it is obvious since the light is coming on you are getting power to the switch. It could be a heated seat relay. Im fairly sure jeeps use a relay after the switch that is where I would start. Check and see if the Heated seat relay, and fuse are good

Fuse # 20, located in the Junction Block (interior, drivers side). This is a ten amp fuse.

Heated seats are not working but light is on

Sounds like the same problem I had. I brought it to the Jeep dealer and they told me that the heating element in the seat stopped working. They told me that the only way to repair was to take the seat apart and replace the heating element in the seat. Of course they will charge you the standard $80 to tell you this. and then quote you $500 plus to repair. I can't even remember how much, I have decided it was not worth it.
