2001 honda civic: headlight problem

2 days ago i noticed that my civic's headlights did not work. the high beams come on but the regular driving lights don't seem to work. low beams do not work but the work was already done for the recall and it only had a limited warranty... I checked bulbs, fuses, wires and it seems to be the same problem (wire harness and whatnot). what can I do... is there an easy fix?

I have the exact same problem. The Low beams wouldn't come on after I closed the hood the other day. I tried replacing the bulbs and checked the fuses, but the bulbs and the fuses are not the problem. All of the other lights and the high beams work.

There was a recall for this problem, if youve never had it fixed you should take it in to your local dealer.

High beams dont go on at all? Does the DRL light dissapear when u turn on the headlights? Now, because your high beams dont work, it more likely means that you need to replace your bulbs. Because if it would be a problem in the car itself, only the DRL system would fail. Im 80% sure that changing your bulbs will solve the problem.

1999 honda civic. both low beams stopped working at the same time.

First thing to do is check your fuses. The high and low beams on Hondas are on seperate fuses. This is probably whats wrong since it is rare for both headlights to burn out at the same time. If the fuses are good the headlight switch may be at fault. Try the fuses first. The headlight switch is a little more detailed to check. You will need a test light and will have to get to the wiring of the headlight switch to start checking wires for grounds and current.

2001 honda civic: headlight problem

Honda has issued a bulletin that addresses this exact problem. The bulletin number is 04-015. Take the car to your local Honda dealer and mention that bulletin to them. They should replace the Headlight Combo switch under warranty.
