Question about GMC Envoy

1 Answer

Hi guys, I appreciate the advice that I received with regard to the 2006 5.3 liter GMC Envoy. The one remaining question I have is where is the mass air sensor located. I do not want to pull the wrong sensor and create another problem. The issue is the car is acting like it is flooding after the engine is warmed up. I believe that the mass air sensor may be sending bad temp info to the ECM and it is not leaning out the mixture when the engine is warm.

Mass airflow sensors are usually in the air intake between the air filter and the intake manifold

Where are the oxygen sensors located on a 2006 gmc envoy

We have 2 locations, upstream before the CAT, and dowstream below the CAT. The upstream is on the passenger side at the exaust manifold very easy to access from the top. The downstream one is after the cat, accessible from underneath. The connector for this one is a PIA, up near the top of the tranny. But doable if you're in the right position.

What type of fuel recomended for 2006 gmc envoy

Fortunately the way they refine fuel these days and the way they engineer these cars and engines, the lowest grade is sufficient and will not cause any damage to the engine or void any warranties. So in short, 87 octane is just fine.
