1999 pontiac grand prix gtp running hard

Going up to about 2500rpms from a stop, the engine seems to just run hard and I can feel it in the gas pedal. I'm thinking the harmonic balancer might be going (can see it wobble a bit at idle). Any help is much appreciated.

Mechanic took a look at the balancer, says that's still good.

The balancer should not "wobble" at all, period. Start by replacing that.

SOURCE: Where is the fuel pump resistor on a 1999 gtp?

It is in the fuse panel mounted under the hood near the overflow coolant bottle.
It is a square shaped device that is actually a relay, labeled with the number 2866.

2006 Pontiac Grand Prix. The engine light was blinking and now is always on. Why?

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to model category.

Sorry for your loss Patty.

Never press gas and brake at the same time, the car is computer driven and knows that can't be right, it brakes, or it accelerates, but never both.

Drive to AutoZone and ask them to scan for the engine code that makes the Engine Malfunction Light come on. They will tell you what the code is. Write it down and report back. It will be Capital 'P' and 4 numbers. Let's fix that before we get into the rough running, because the code might be the one that is causing it.

Just walk in and say "the engine malfunction light is on my my vehicle, can you tell me the OBD code associated with it please". They will know that you know what you are talking about. Then tell them you will go home and research it and will be back.

1999 Grand Prix GTP Supercharged 3.8L gas engine. Poor fuel economy.

did you check the lower intake manifold gaskets? they go bad on the 3800 series 2, since you have the supercharger you won't have an issue with the upper intake because it is not plastic but the gaskets may be bad as well. that engine runs best with irridium plugs.
