There should be a leaver by driver seat to release if you mean the fuel door if you mean locking cap then a screewdriver with a little force will remove the cap then you will need to replace with new cap

    Saab gas tank locked

In the trunk, there should be a carpet panel and the gas door side. Pull the carpet siding back and there should be a lever labeled gas gap manual. Use that to manually release the lock

How do i replace the fuel level sensor on a 2005 kia sorento

    What You'll Need:
    • flat head screwdriver
    • Phillips head screwdriver
    • hammer
    • open end wrenches
    • replacement fuel tank sending unit
Before you begin, disconnect the negative battery cable to be sure no electrical sparks are possible. You're dealing with gas which is highly flammable!Your fuel tank sending unit is located in the top of the fuel tank, but is accessible under your back seat (or under the carpet in your trunk) on some models. The sending unit will be protected by an access cover, usually held on with a couple of screws. Lift your back seat or trunk carpet and locate the access cover for your fuel tank sending unit. Remove the screws holding the cover in place and remove the access cover to reveal the fuel tank sending unit.
Safety Note: Gasoline is highly flammable. By removing the fuel tank sending unit, you are opening the gas tank. Be sure there are no sources of spark or flame nearby.
With the access cover removed, you'll see the fuel tank sending unit right there on top. It will have a wiring harness plugged into the top (this tells your gas gauge how much fuel is in the tank). Unplug the wiring harness and move it safely to the side. If your fuel tank sending unit is screwed or bolted in place, remove the screws or bolts. Some sending units are a "twist-lock" type. They work like the old twist-lock gas caps. You'll see a few notches along the outer ring of the sending unit. Place the tip of a sturdy flat head screwdriver in the notch and gently tap it counter-clockwise. The sending unit will rotate until it's loose. (the picture above shows the fuel tank out of the car to illustrate the fuel tank sending unit's location). Now you can remove the fuel tank sending unit in one piece. Attached to it is a long rod with a float at the end, so you might have to try a couple of different angles to get it out. As usual, installation is the reverse of removal. Don't forget to plug the new sender in or it won't send you anything!

How do i change a 2004 Lincoln LS fuel pump?

Hi. here's how to change the fuel pump. The actual electric fuel pump is in the tank on the right side. The tank is directly below the rear seat. If you remove the seat bottom you will find a 6 inch or so cover. Under the cover there is a plastic, threaded collar that locks the fuel pump into the tank. The driver's side also has a pump, but it works only my venturi effect from the electric pump on the other side. This pump is used to equalize the fuel level from left to right. The drive shaft tunnel prevents all but the very top of the tank from communicating left to right.

    Wheres the fuel pump located

Hello rand1958: My name is Roger and I will help. The fuel pump is located in the fuel tank. You can access the pump by removing the rear seat cushion. Remove the 4 screws in the floor cover. unplug the fuel pump wire harness. Remove the fuel line locks. BE CAREFUL as fuel lines may be under pressure. Remove pump lock ring to remove the fuel pump. I would also recommend replacing the fuel filter at the same time. Should you need further help please just ask. Please rate the answer as this way I know it was helpful. Thank You for using Fix Ya. I have a lexus ls400 and the fuel gauge stop working... at first the niddle would go full and stay there. then on other days it would read empty.

The sending unit located in the gas tank must be replaced on most of these cars you can gain access to it by removing the back seat revealing an access cover allowing you to get to the sending unit remove retaining screws or locking ring and replace. You probably should be grounded and have a Haynse repair manual handy to walk you through this job it's not the easiest job but not to hard either unless the gas tank must be dropped down to access the sending unit if that's the case have a shop do the job that job is pretty tough.

My son ran my truck out of gas. Its a 1988 F250

first, is this a diesel? if it is there is a line or oring loose allowing it to **** air--diesels dont like leaks like that and there is a whole procedure for voiding the air from the lines on diesels. next could be the in tank pump and also does it have duel tanks? does the duel tank switch work? running out of fuel with in tank pumps can burn up the pump (the fuel itself provides lubrication and cooling for the pump, gas or diesel) and of course check the filter, running out and refilling could have disturbed trash in the tank

    I have a ford f 250 and i think its a 2006 and

sounds like your fuel sending unit is headed south. if you decide to change yourself its a lot easier to pull the bed than to drop the tank. take 3 scews from filler neck and leave gas cap off. goto left rear and unplug bed lights from frame. get right size torqs socket and remove 6 bolts from inside bed. i usually use an air impact. get three people and a saw horse or some kind of stand. what your going to do is lift and walk the bed off the back till access cover is exposed. this sounds like alot but we ussualy do it in a 1/2 hour or less. now mind you that to get the access cover off the tank you will need certain tools. 1 large strap wrench. 1 set of plastic line lock releases.

    Gas Cap

There is a lock inside there, but it should only be actuated when you've locked your doors. By pushing the lock button on your key fob it locks your doors, rear hatch and your gas cap cover. Once you push the unlock button the lock inside will retract back allowing you to push on the cover. If you do have your doors unlocked, then it could be either the lock is not retracting as it should or the metal clip that the lock contacts with when in the out position may be bent out of shape and still in contact with the lock when the lock is retracted.
