Question about 2003 Honda Civic
I have a 2003 Honda civic, the ignition switch will not take the key, it only goes half way, I have to wiggle it for about 30 minutes in order to get the key in the switch........ same problem with driver side door, but lately, the door would not take the key at all. I tried wd40 on both; no difference...I have three keyes, balet parking, and two ragular keyes, and is the same problem with all three..... Is this a commun problem on Civics? do I need to rapace the swtch or is there a way to fiix it?.
The switch and door lock needs the tumblers replaced but you well be able to use the original keys has to be taken to a honda dealer to have this done and it well take a few hours trust me i have delt with it as a honda tech

I have the same problem and to fix it they want you to purchase a new ignition for I think it was $400. I don't have it like that so I got the key in the ignition after about an hour of putting it in and out while wiggling it and it the started the car. I then took an old black (to match my interior) T shirt but any fabric would do. I wrapped it around my steering colum so it covered the key and tied it underneath. That way any person looking in my windows cant see the key is there. I then use my Karr keyless entry fob to lock and unlock the drivers door or I use my 2nd key to unlock the passenger door and then unlock the drivers door. But that one key stays in the ignition all time I never remove it its to hard to get to work again.
