Question about 2001 Isuzu Trooper

'01 Trooper tranny replacement time

Need help with time required to replace tranny on '01 Trooper AT 4WD. Doing battle w/nat'l parts chain who sold me rebuilt unit which lasted a grand total of 19 days and 600 miles. Their claim is that they hold pricing down by "limiting their labor warranty" to $50/hr. with a cap of $350. They also claim that this job is 8.8 hrs., per Mitchell's Labor Guide: can anyone confirm or refute this?? I've spoken to a couple of gearheads who said this is closer to a 12 hour job than anything else. Anyone have access to Mitchell or Alldata that can shed some light? I can appreciate if the unit that smoked had 2 years and/or 50K on it, but I want the labor cost picked up completely by them for the 2nd go-round. Ironically enough, the 2nd unit shipped by them had a auxillary cooler that was literally twice the size of the original. Any help would be appreciated.

That transmission is a very difficult transmission to do because the whole transfer case has to be removed. I would estimate approximately 10-12 hrs of labor time.

Where can i purchase a rebuilt transfer case for a 2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara >> Base 2.7L, RHD, V6. in Florida?

the chain is situated at the rear of the box and connects the output shaft of the gear box to the input shaft of the transfer case . it does wear and get loose and the gear teeth wear as well. all that is required is a chain and 2 gears and labour to replace
i feel that replacing the transfer case will not achieve much so i suggest that you talk with a service dealer to get a better idea of what is involved.

I have a 2002 jaguar x-type, 4wd 2.5petro manual. is there a timing belt or chain? when does it have to be replaced? thanks.

The engine has a timing chain which is continureously lubricated by oil. When problem occours, as it requires most of everything on front of engine to be removed to replace it!

Can a 99 isuzu trooper tranny work in a 2001

search around for auto recyclers via a google search. find one with a searchable inventory, they are out there. marshall's in circleville, ohio is one. search for a transmission for a 99 isuzu trooper and for a 01 trooper transmission. if they have the same interchange part number, you are good to go. if not, you will find certainly one that is.

I have a 1996 Acura SLX which is basically the same vehicle as the isuzu trooper. My 4wd light will not go off even in 2wd and the other night went into 4wd all on it's own. the shop said a solenoid for...

Check the rubber vaccume pipes on the front axle first as it will do this if the pull out of 4wd one leaks the pull in 4wd one wins .It defaults to 4wd in .

You got 3 solenoids and a shift motor so best narrow it down a bit - try reading on isuzu trooper owners club UK about this problem .

Engine noise

It is true that this engine DOES in fact have a timing chain. The 3.0L uses a timing belt, which has to be replaced at regular intervals. Typically, the 3.3 & 3.8, which both use a timing chain, don't have to be replaced nearly as often but still requires replacement once they have "stretched" beyond their normal working limits. The timing chain cover must be removed to inspect or replace this part. Typically, timing chain kits (comes w/ crank & cam gears) are sold at local auto parts stores.
